Building Our Collective Freedom

Bienvenidx a LiberArte, a Spanglish lugarcito rooted in humility, resistance, and collective growth. We’re not here to save anyone—we’re here to grow and get free together.

At LiberArte, we embrace learning, unlearning, and remembering. We know growth isn’t always pretty—it’s about shedding the lies we’ve been taught, facing the ways we’ve been wrong, and realizing we don’t have to stay stuck. Being adaptable isn’t just about survival; it’s resistance. And in this moment, nuestra comunidad is being called to resist with everything we’ve got.

This is a space that unapologetically honors the anger that moves us, the curiosity that fuels us, and the self-worth that allows us to demand what we deserve. ¿Estás dispuestx a sentir? Are you ready to feel the agitation, the spark that reminds you you’re worth so much more than what this system offers?

Aquí en LiberArte, we’ll draw from the strength of our ancestors, who have been preparing us for this moment. Freedom will not build itself. Liberation is a collective act—a beautiful, messy, ongoing process that will require everyone to do their part. Here at LiberArte, we’ll commit to meeting each other where we’re at, but we do have some non-negotiables and we won’t have time to coast. We dream, we move, and we build, juntos/as/xs.

Our Non-Negotiables

  • Reflection is essential. Growth doesn’t happen without reflection, and we create space for it to be a shared practice.

  • Feedback is not an attack. Feedback, when shared constructively, is not an attack but an opportunity for mutual growth. We’ll focus on how actions affect us and how we can do better together: For example, “When I hear you say X, this is how it makes me feel,” rather than assigning blame.

  • Accountability strengthens us. Accountability isn’t punishment—it’s how we grow stronger together. Mistakes are inevitable, but naming and owning them is necessary for moving forward.

  • Harmful behaviors have no home here. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, chauvinism, or attacks on women or marginalized people. This is a space for healing, not harm.

  • Care and accountability go hand in hand. We can love and support one another while holding ourselves and our community accountable for doing better.

  • Authenticity over performance. We will not tolerate performative politics or shallow gestures. Our work must be rooted in genuine commitment and action.

  • Solidarity over division. We reject identity politics that divide and distract us from collective liberation. Instead, we’ll honor intersectionality while standing together against systemic harm.

  • Resisting all forms of genocide. From the erasure of cultures to the destruction of entire peoples, we commit to standing against all acts of genocide, in solidarity with global movements for justice. Here at LiberArte we stand firmly and unapologetically with the People’s of Palestina and we will move and respond in accordance with these values.

  • Truth and justice above all. As Malcolm X said, “We stand for truth and justice, no matter who it’s for or against.”

These values aren’t just hollow or symbolic gestures—they’re commitments to one another and to the work of liberation. We are here to grow, to resist, and to co-create a world where everyone belongs.

Soñaremos, nos moveremos, y construiremos juntos/as/xs.

LiberArte is not just a name; it’s a call to action. It’s an invitation to embrace the duality of languages, the power of anger, the tenderness of creativity, and the joy of solidarity.

Let’s grow together. Let’s resist. Porque nuestra libertad nos espera.
